In what company president, Chris Huber, calls the most successful Graph Expo show ever, printing industry software developer Virtual Systems is riding a wave of momentum into the fourth quarter. Launching a great show-week was the receiving of a prestigious industry award, a Must See 'Em for its Midnight Mail software and a nod as a "Worth a Look" winner for its complete Midnight Fulfillment software.
The Must See 'Ems award program is a highlight feature of the Executive Outlook Conference held annually the day before GRAPH EXPO opens. It is designed to focus the Print industry's attention on the most compelling and survival-critical technologies, services, and products exhibited at GRAPH EXPO 2011. Products selected as Must See 'Ems were chosen from more than 1,800 individual products shown at GRAPH EXPO 2011 by more than 475 exhibitors. A panel of several leading industry consultants and trade magazine editors selected the winners, which represent technologies that will impact virtually all types of companies in print, mail and fulfillment industry. GRAPH EXPO is held annually in Chicago.
"The process of winning a Must See 'Em is pretty exciting," stated Huber. "We toil over our entry, trying really hard to define exactly what make our products so exciting and innovative. Then we submit the entry more than a month before the show starts. The entire process is kept a secret. Then we arrive to staff the booth at about 8:00 AM on the day GraphExpo actually opens, and the award sign is staged in our booth. It's a thrill for us and the way event organizers announce the winners really energizes the staff and sets the tone for the week."
Launched in early 2011, Midnight is a new software program for printers who are expanding beyond the confines of traditional print and moving into more broad-based marketing services such as mailing, fulfillment, data analytics, purls, and email blasts. Midnight features tools to help companies price these services correctly and manage complex marketing projects from start to finish, allowing them to maximize profitability by being more efficient. "In addition to the success in the Must See 'Em judging - and perhaps somewhat caused by it -- Virtual Systems had the best show in it's 10-year history of attending", said Huber, "We typically don't go to this show to write business or take orders. It's been more about branding, seeing customers and meeting new ones. This year we actually wrote several contracts and acquired more qualified leads than ever before. It really validated what we've set out to do as a company and tells me our programmers and engineers are making the right products for the emerging market place."
