Bank of Thailand Orders Three Additional Albo System Pile Turners

Press release from the issuing company

In year 2006 Bank of Thailand invested in their first pile turner from Albo System. The objective was to decrease the number of sheet related problems and speed up the currency printing process. Immediately the pile turner had a positive impact on the currency production as the sheets now could be aligned and well separated without manual sheet manipulation and this resulted in a higher production speed in the presses. In 2009 three more units were installed. Once also the newly ordered machines are installed there will be a total number of seven Albo system Bank Note Pile turners on the floor of Bank of Thailand.

Albo System has received a new important machine order from Bank of Thailand. The order includes three pile turners of the special Bank Note model with recommended options.

Bank of Thailand bought their first pile turner from Albo System in 2006, for the purpose of aligning and separating the sheets in the currency printing process, in order to speed up production process and reduce manual sheet manipulation that vastly decreased the efficiency in the printing plant.

For sheets of normal paper or board, aligning and sheet separation would have been an every day job for the Albo System pile turner, but because of the intaglio and special features of the bank note paper - very few physical rules were according to normal circumstances.

Despite some doubts and not being able to test the material outside the highly secured production facility, the result turned out to be even better than predicted. Once installed, the pile turner had an immediately positive impact on the currency production speed.

The Albo System "Bank Note model" is based on the robust, functional and easy to operate pile turner concept from Albo System and includes several over the time specially developed and important modifications and add-ons in order to be able to handle the special bank note sheets. For example there is an optional dust and odour removal system that prevents spreading the dust and odour from the sheets in the surrounding air, which generates an improved working environment.

Over the last couple of years Bank of Thailand has increased its numbers of Albo System pile turners and until now there are a total of four machines installed. After installing the three newly ordered machines by the year end of 2011, the number of Bank Note pile Turners from Albo System will be seven and the complete installation will be one of the most prestigious for Albo System worldwide.
