Screen USA Adds Powerful Production Modules To Trueflownet At Drupa 2004
Press release from the issuing company
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Drupa 2004 will mark the worldwide debut of several innovative production components within Screen USA's JDF-enabled Trueflownet business solution. Trueflownet is an expansion of Screen's commitment to the development of efficient, easy-to-use and open systems.
Trueflownet provides an end-to-end operating environment designed to drive highly automated, streamlined print ordering and production, coupled with fully integrated print production management. It takes Screen customers from order creation, through to prepress, onto the press and ultimately into finishing and delivery.
The following Trueflownet modules will be demonstrated in the Screen stand (Hall 5 Stand D1) and in the CIP4 arena demonstrating JDF interoperability with other vendors:
- Trueflow Rite workflow
- Ritecontrol print manager
- Riteonline, a web browser-based online print ordering module
- Riteportal for online PDF creation and delivery
- Ritetransfer, an intelligent and powerful communication portal to provide easy and efficient file transfer from the Trueflow system
- Riteapprove, a remote proofing service
Trueflow Rite: entry-level workflow
Trueflow Rite is an entry-level version of Screen's workflow management system designed to provide basic workflow functionality to those wishing to take the first steps into automated direct-to-plate production. Trueflow Rite features the basic functions necessary for CTP, such as RIP operation, job ticketing and imposition. Users can upgrade to the full-featured version of Trueflow as their requirements develop.
Ritecontrol: heart of Screen's JDF workflow
Ritecontrol is the heart of Screen's JDF workflow. This production management system supports the interface between Trueflow and a user's specific MIS system. It provides unified control of all the processes involved in getting a printed product to market, including design, prepress, press, finishing and delivery. By managing information, such as print ordering and the production process, users can achieve ultimate control over a highly automated and streamlined environment.
Riteonline: robust print ordering system
A powerful web browser-based print ordering system, Riteonline streamlines the ordering of print jobs and allows printers' customers to procure customized documents or reprints at any time. The system provides ultimate control over document customizing, print ordering and approval. By reducing manual intervention, Riteonline reduces job cycle times, lowers costs and improves productivity. A turnkey software application that integrates seamlessly into the Trueflownet workflow or works with other solutions using JDF/JMF messaging, Riteonline can be incorporated into existing operations very easily.
Riteportal: Internet portal into prepress
Screen's Internet portal allows content creators to prepare and deliver error-free, production-ready Certified PDF files from any application. Easily tailored to a printer's production workflow, Riteportal simplifies the PDF creation, preflight, certification, encryption and delivery of predefined PDF files into a simple click-and-print process from the desktop for both online and offline delivery. The system makes it possible to eliminate problems often associated with bad PDFs, such as incorrect profile settings and missing fonts. Certified PDFs created by customers are uploaded to the print site's Riteportal server and automatically placed into predetermined hot folders or print queues. As a result, print jobs get on press with fewer delays and quality results are guaranteed. Riteportal complies with JDF and PDF/X-1a open standards and integrates easily with Trueflow.
Ritetransfer: intelligent communication portal
Ritetransfer is an intelligent and powerful file client/server communication portal designed as a customer relationship management (CRM) solution for printers looking for an easy-to-use file transfer system. Ritetransfer enables customers to submit jobs directly from their desktop. It provides a customized and branded drag-and-drop Java client application for both PC and Macintosh platforms.
Ritetransfer supports JDF output and can generate a JDF INTENT file if required. The Ritetransfer client performs file transfer, with automatic file compression/decompression, in the background without interrupting other activities. Customers and printers automatically receive an email notification once the job has been successfully transferred. The software features an automatic update capability that gives the printer the ability to dynamically update all their clients with the latest job ticket forms, profiles and software patches.
Riteapprove: browser-based proof approval solution
Riteapprove integrates with Trueflow in the Trueflownet environment to provide printers and their customers with an efficient and accurate browser-based proof approval solution. Before a job goes into final production, customers (single or multiple contacts) receive an email with a direct link to their specific job for comment, annotation and approval. Comments and annotations are logged. The approval status and deadline notification are automatically tracked.
