Rolling Meadows, IL, - Komori America Corporation announced today, that Komori's proprietary H-UV Curing System is the recipient of the Printing Industries of America's InterTech Technology Award. "We are extremely pleased that this exciting UV technology has been recognized as a cutting edge product by the graphic arts community," said Kosh Miyao, president and COO of Komori America. In February, 2011, the Komori H-UV technology also received the Technical Award of the Japanese Society of Printing Science and Technology (JSPST).
The Komori H-UV System is an innovative curing system that was developed by Komori as one of its many solutions designed to improve overall pressroom efficiency. With just one lamp mounted in the delivery, the system offers high print quality and reliability, as well as excellent economics and eco-friendly performance. Significant benefits include low heat to the stock; significantly reduced power usage; faster makeready times; superior dot reproduction and ink gloss; powder free application and dramatic special effects as well a cross platform compatibility with UV and conventional inks and coatings.
With H-UV, sheets can go from the press directly to bindery, significantly improving efficiency and job turnaround times to deliver "Offset on Demand." The system also operates in the "non-ozone" wavelength of the energy curing spectrum, making it an eco-friendly alternative and eliminating the need for roof venting. Using only one bulb in the delivery of the press to cure the sheet also significantly reduces cost over other drying methods. "It's really an extremely efficient and user-friendly system," said Miyao. "Komori has invested significant R&D effort in ensuring that H-UV satisfies all the requirements of the printing industry-efficiency, high quality and fast job cycle times. With over 100 systems either installed or on order worldwide, we are confident that H-UV is a serious game-changer in the printing industry and we are quite honored to receive the InterTech Technology Award."
