Druckerei Hesse Prints Greener, Saves Cost with ROLAND 700

Press release from the issuing company

Druckerei Hesse in Fuldabrück, Germany, remains loyal to the manroland brand, which not only enables this printer to provide premium print quality but also save on heating costs in the future.

The new five-color ROLAND 700 will replace the company's old manroland press. "Our customers are very demanding, and the new press with a dispersion coating module is capable of meeting the highest requirements," reports Petra Kaiser, owner of Druckerei Hesse. She and her team appreciate the efficient link between the press and the prepress operations. "Now the first proof has almost end-product quality and long makeready times are a thing of the past," says Petra Kaiser. Druckerei Hesse prints brochures, catalogs, posters, presentation folders, flyers, business stationery, and much more besides. The range of substrates to be printed is correspondingly wide: the new press processes everything from 0.04 mm lightweight paper up to carton 1 mm thick. The heat generated by the press is fed into the new ventilation system and helps to reduce heating costs.

The QuickChange options for the ROLAND 700 make life easier for the printers. QuickChange Surface ensures fast ink changes and saves on washing agents. QuickChange Color enables the ink flow to be changed from the control console for fewer waste sheets. QuickChange Job provides fast job change-over fully automatically. QuickChange Wash cuts the time needed for washing up the inking units by half. With QuickChange Air, all relevant settings for repeat jobs are stored, which reduces makeready times and increases average production speed. The APL automatic plate changing system is of course a part of the package.

Taken all together, the QuickChange options increase printing capacity by up to 30 percent. Furthermore, inking units not used can be disengaged which minimizes roller wear. Dampening solution cooling and inking unit temperature control reduce annual energy consumption in this area by around 25 percent.
