Bell and Howell Announces Enhanced Data Management Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

Durham, N.C., – Bell and Howell (BH) today announced the next release of its Compose and ReCompose software solutions for designing and producing business documents. Seamlessly integrated within the Bell and Howell automated document factory (ADF) software suite, the enhanced solutions enable customers to quicken enterprise change and reduce operational costs, while accelerating the creation of new business services.

"The new Compose and ReCompose provide Bell and Howell customers with greater business agility and responsiveness," said Mike Maselli, BH vice president of marketing and product management. "Customers are under unprecedented pressure to reduce operating costs, fix legacy applications, increase document integrity and impact, and deploy new document services faster and with limited resources. Our powerful document solutions will help customers satisfy these and other business challenges faster."

The new solutions deliver unmatched customer value, enabled by a unified architecture that provides a single, easy-to-use interface for both composition and post-composition "legacy" document solutions. Likewise, the unified architecture provides a single integrated platform for document design, output management and printstream rendering, thus eliminating the costs and user skills associated with maintaining separate composition and post-composition tools.

The enhanced Compose and ReCompose solutions bolster enterprise-wide collaboration and efficiency through capability enhancements such as: shared visual design interface, centralized design repository, robust version control, and storage/reuse of shared design objects. Application development is simplified, reducing the time required to improve document quality, add personalization or color, transform and render print streams, add barcodes, build control files for integrity tracking, and design for multi-channel delivery.
