FINAT Teams up With Labelexpo Organizers to Start Operators' Day

Press release from the issuing company

The Hague, FINAT, the European association for the self-adhesive label industry, is teaming up with the organisers of Labelexpo Europe 2011 and its affiliated national label associations in Europe to organise 'Operators Day'.  Operators Day will be held on the final day of the Show that will run from 28 September – 1 October at the Parc des Expositions in Brussels.

On Saturday 1 October, operators from label companies across Europe will be welcomed to a special 'Show Trail' programme that will lead them to the stands of participating supplier member companies exhibiting at the show. The show trail will contain an educational competition element and will offer participants to qualify for prizes to be awarded at the closing ceremony of the event.

FINAT Managing Director Jules Lejeune comments: "This year will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the FINAT – Labelexpo Europe partnership. Over the years, we have seen Labelexpo Europe grow to the standard setting international trade show it is today, and we have no doubt that records again will be broken this year. With Operators Day, we aim to add a new dimension to the show and offer a dedicated programme to an important target group that as traditionally occupied the show floor at the closing day of the event."

Roger Pellow, Managing Director of Tarsus' Labels Group, organiser of the Labelexpo Global Series, welcomes this initiative: "Our shows have a proven track record as vehicle for the launch of new products, materials and technologies for the label industry. Ultimately, however it is our workforce that has to put these innovations into practice. We are pleased to now be able to reach this target group with this tailored programme and encourage the industry to embrace Operators Day as a new element on our show programme."

Klemens Ehrlitzer, Director of VskE, the German label association and one of the initiators of Operators Day, states that the event fulfils a old wish of his members to make effective use of this Saturday. "Operators' Day opens up new opportunities for our member companies. It will allow their workforce a direct view of the global world of labelling, giving them an opportunity for education and hands-on experience of new technologies, gather precious information for future investment decisions but also collect a number of practical tips for your daily production routine. We hope that operators will return from the fair with an increased motivation to work in a modern and future-oriented industry."
