Toshiba: New In-Office Document Management Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

IRVINE, Calif., (Jan. 16, 2004) – In an effort to help businesses reduce their document-related spending – estimated by analyst research to run between five and 15 percent of a company’s annual revenues – Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS) today introduced its next generation multifunction systems, the Toshiba e-STUDIO™3511/4511 series. Toshiba’s most advanced monochrome multifunction products offering color output, e-STUDIO3511/4511 series also offers complete integration of copy, print, fax and scan capabilities. The e-STUDIO3511/4511 series is the ideal document management solution for small and mid-sized businesses interested in incorporating color into everyday business presentations while improving their bottom line through the reduction of high-cost document outsourcing. “Businesses today are looking for new and innovative ways to improve their business and their bottom line, and they’re also becoming more aware of the hidden costs associated with their document production practices,” said Mark Matthews, vice president, Marketing for TABS. “Single unit, multifunction systems that print, copy, fax and scan have been recognized for their significant cost-saving and productivity benefits. Now with Toshiba’s introduction of affordable color capabilities in the e-STUDIO3511/4511 series, we provide businesses with a more complete all-in-one system, allowing them to easily, and cost-effectively incorporate color into their everyday documents.” Toshiba’s e-STUDIO4511 Earns Better Buys For Business’ “Worth Watching Award” The leading independent buyer’s guide to office equipment, Better Buys for Business, reviewed the e-STUDIO3511 and e-STUDIO4511 prior to their market introduction, naming the e-STUDIO4511 “Worth Watching in 2004” in its December 2003 Color Copier Guide. “The e-STUDIO3511 and e-STUDIO4511 are currently the best examples of the emerging black-to-color models that may take over the office someday,” writes Better Buys for Business. “There is a lot to like about this product series.” Superior Document Output and Handling The e-STUDIO3511 and e-STUDIO4511 produce a brisk rate of 35 and 45 monochrome printed or copied pages-per-minute (PPM) respectively with a superior black-and-white printing resolution of 2,400 dpi x 600 dpi for crisp output of fine detail. Both models produce color documents at a rate of 11 PPM with a high-quality matte color finish that is easier to write on than traditional slick color prints. Designed for small and mid-sized businesses and workgroups, both models offer a monthly copy volume of up to 150,000. Both models deliver a first-copy-out-time (FCOT) of a mere 6.8 seconds for monochrome and just 16.2 seconds for color, with a quick 40-second warm-up time using Toshiba’s unique fusing technology. The e-STUDIO3511/4511 series offers a large paper capacity of up to 3,700 sheets, with two 550-sheet drawers and a 100-sheet Stack Feed Bypass as standard. Several finishing options also are available, including stapling, hole punch, saddle stitching and a hanging finisher to further enhance the functionality of black-and-white and color output. Carefully Planned Design for Exceptional Ease-of-Use The e-STUDIO3511/4511 series’ multifunction design translates to space and cost-saving benefits versus the use of single function units. The ergonomic control panel designed for the e-STUDIO3511/4511 series features a touch screen control panel with oversized and easy to understand graphical icons and a 45-degree tilting capability – adjustable to enhance visibility and ease-of-operation in varying light and reflective conditions and to match the height of the user. The integrated address book is user-friendly and shared for use with all different communication functions, and a template program allows for easy set-up of commonly performed jobs. Seamless Multifunction Integration Through Toshiba’s e-Bridge Platform The e-STUDIO3511/4511 series is built on Toshiba’s original e-Bridge architecture – a single-board technology platform for processing and integrating the separate architectures that enable copying, printing, scanning, faxing and other networking capabilities into one. Network-ready out of the box, the e-STUDIO3511/4511 series enables easy-to-use network connections from anywhere, at anytime. The e-STUDIO3511 and e-STUDIO4511 are available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers for the suggested list price of $11,895 and $14,325 (USD) respectively.
