manroland welcomed a new customer: the Russian Prime Print Group ordered a newspaper press from manroland for the first time. A UNISET is scheduled for installation at the Group's Voronezh location in August of this year.

At the end of 2010, Prime Print called for tenders for a printing system to meet the increasingly complex requirements for newspaper production. Among other things, this contract printer produces one edition of Komsomolskaja Prawda, the largest circulation daily newspaper in Russia. Alexander P. Turbanov, General Director of Prime Print Voronezh, explains the investment decision: "With the wide range of presses available these days, the decision was a difficult one. We chose manroland because the company has an excellent reputation in the Russian market. Important criteria in opting for the UNISET were the high level of automation, good print quality, and good service." This confirms that, besides the technology, manroland's service was an important factor, and this includes production support for the first three months after the installation and six audits over the following two years. Prime Print decided against a single-circumference newspaper press in the lower price segment and chose the double-circumference UNISET, which has higher output on less floor space. With two eight-couple towers, one H-type printing unit, two folders, and the cut-off register control InlineCutoff Control, the UNISET expands production capacity in Voronezh to a maximum of 64 tabloid pages.

Michael Beier, Managing Director of manroland Russia and Oleg Rumjanzew, Vice President Webfed Presses at HGS, are delighted about this transaction: "The UNISET sale is our first major project with the Prime Print Group and we will do our best to ensure this is the beginning of a long and close partnership." The Prime Print Group has six printing houses in different regions of Russia and belongs to the Norwegian media concern A-Pressen.
