Enovation to Resell Remote Director Proofing System from ICS
Press release from the issuing company
VALHALLA, N.Y., February 2, 2004 – To tap into the rapidly increasing demand for color-accurate remote soft proofing, Enovation Graphic Systems, Inc., a Fujifilm company, announced today it has signed an agreement with Integrated Color Solutions, Inc. (ICS) to resell ICS’s award-winning Remote Director “soft” proofing system and its Press Check option in the graphic arts market. Enovation, the leading distributor of equipment, consumables and technical services to the graphic communications industry, will immediately begin selling the Remote Director products to commercial printers, prepress providers, catalogers, ad and design firms and publishers.
ICS’s Remote Director is the first SWOP-certified, monitor-based contract proofing system that applies advanced color management to verify the accuracy of every monitor and every proof. The new Press Check scanner option extends the monitor based, contract-proofing concept by allowing print buyers to review and approve color-critical press runs anywhere in the world, without leaving their desks.
"In Remote Director, ICS has developed the most innovative, as well as the most consistent, monitor-based or ‘soft’ contract proofing system available today," said John Meyer, director of product management,
Enovation Graphic Systems, Inc. "Our goal is delivering to our customers quality products that span the entire digital workflow. With its unique advantage of verifiable color accuracy, Remote Director allows us to offer our customers real time and cost-saving alternatives to existing color proofing approaches and to open new possibilities for process improvement.”
"Monitor proofing is a practice whose time has come because of the often dramatic cost and time savings it affords. But lack of color consistency has held it back from replacing or augmenting a hard proof,” noted Jeffrey Silverman, president and CEO, ICS. “Remote Director makes color accurate remote proofing not just possible, but practical, with the assurance that every monitor involved in a proofing session is displaying color accurately – and according to industry requirements such as SWOP or GRACoL, if needed. We’re pleased to be partnering with Enovation, a company dedicated to excellence in distribution and customer service, as the best and most efficient source to bring Remote Director to a large and increasingly receptive market.”
Remote Director is the first SWOP-certified, monitor-based contract proofing system that applies advanced color management to verify the accuracy of every monitor and every proof. Running on commercially available hardware, Remote Director software allows multiple reviewers in dispersed locations to view, collaborate and comment on color as well as content and build a digital record of the proofing process from start to finish including legal signoff. Reviewers can collaborate in real-time or work at their own convenience, allowing photographers, agencies, clients, prepress shops and printers to communicate more effectively while accomplishing in hours what used to take days.
Uniquely supporting both RGB and CMYK workflows, this flexible proofing solution can be used for proofing content, imposition, critical color and predicting press results, as well as for the final contract proof. Downloadable via the Internet, the software is easy to install, easy to use and integrates into any proofing workflow.
