CMYK announces first US installation of new preproofer at Colonial Printing

Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, MA – CMYK Distributors, Inc. today announced the first U.S. installation of Swiss manufacturer Digital Information's latest Preproofer 970, at Colonial Printing Company in Warwick, RI.  The faster and more automated Preproofer 970 incorporates sophisticated registration technology and supports presses up to 43"/109 cm, giving Colonial Printing a definite edge in producing brilliant quality two-sided prints.  Colonial Printing Company was introduced to the Preproofer 970 by The Tripp Company of Braintree, MA.  The Tripp Company, part of CMYK's exclusive dealer network, is New England's leading supplier of consumable products and services for the graphic arts industry.  They are also certified to provide installation, training and technical support to their customer base on all InkZone products.

For more than three decades, Colonial Printing has achieved success by producing printed communication material with quality of the highest caliber, in a responsive and flexible manner.  Since 1975, the family-owned and operated Colonial Printing Company has developed the infrastructure and the supporting systems to handle just about any printing challenge.  And, the addition of Digital Information's new Preproofer is the latest acquisition in Colonial Printing's equipment arsenal.

The Preproofer, which was unveiled by Digital Information in 2010, is the world's leading system in double-sided proofing.  Equipped with Epson's latest line of Stylus Pro large-format printers, the new models bring a substantial increase in printing speed and color fidelity.

Colonial Printing Company is committed to streamlining and simplifying the printing process.  With their clients' needs in mind, Colonial Printing has systematically enhanced its business with the latest technologies on the market.   "As an innovative and forward-thinking company, Colonial Printing has made some significant capital investments in equipment recently," said Ray Menna, Owner of Colonial Printing.  "Digital Information's new Preproofer is our latest acquisition and we are very pleased with the performance of this piece of equipment.  It definitely lives up to its promise to provide high-quality double-sided proofing.  And, because the Preproofer comes with DI-Plot bitmap-proofing software, we were able to easily integrate the product into our prepress workflow."  With a wide variety of output formats, the Preproofer models can be aligned to create prints in formats rivaling most configurations of offset presses and post-press equipment used in the printing industry.   This latest version of the Preproofer solution affords today's printer a whole new range of highly-attractive application areas.

"Colonial Printing is a top-notch operation and we are delighted to be working with them," said William Fabiano, Director of Technology, CMYK Distributors.  "The installation of Digital Information's new Preproofer at Colonial represents a significant milestone for Digital Information.  The Preproofer has already seen much success in the international printing community.  And, we look forward to similar results in the U.S., starting with Colonial Printing."
