Vision 3 Summit to feature Pacesetters Panel

Press release from the issuing company

Reston, VA — In today's challenging times, some companies rise to the occasion and become an inspiration to the rest of the industry. Graphic communications executives will have a first-hand opportunity to learn about these innovative companies' challenges and successes during the "Pacesetters Panel—Leading the Industry by Example" session at the upcoming Vision 3 Summit. A groundbreaking new leadership conference produced by the industry's three top associations, the Vision 3 Summit will take place March 13–16, 2011, at the Desert Springs JW Marriott in Palm Desert, CA. The conference is being jointly produced by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL); NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies (NPES); and, Printing Industries of America.

The "Pacesetters Panel—Leading the Industry by Example" promises valuable insights on creating a solid vision and setting the appropriate direction for your company. The session will feature companies of different sizes, who specialize in different processes, and who took different paths to success to each become a pacesetter in the industry. Panelists include:

- Craig Faust, president and CEO of HGI Company, a diverse single-source provider of printing, finishing and digital asset management services;
- Bill Gilmer, president and owner of Wordsprint, a small printing company that specializes in marketing services, including strategic planning, design, printing, branding, website development and more; and,
- Scott Vaughn, CEO of The Standard Group, a family-owned business that mixes commercial printing with digital services, direct mail expertise, data and list services, and warehousing and fulfillment.

The session will be facilitated by Michael Makin, president and CEO of Printing Industries of America. "The Pacesetters panelists are so inspiring, in part because they show that achieving success in this industry doesn't require following one specific path," Makin said. "There are many different formulas for becoming a pacesetter as participants in this session will learn firsthand from the personal insights and lessons learned by some of our industry's most inspiring visionaries."

The Vision 3 Summit will feature a slew of valuable sessions in addition to the "Pacesetters Panel." Indeed, the conference will address a range of topics crucial to the successful running of one's graphic communications business, from the economic recovery, to future growth markets, to new-media marketing strategies and sales tactics, with a particular emphasis on real-world applications and 'best practices,' and will offer "how-to" advice. The Vision 3 Summit will also feature a variety of networking events and receptions.

The Vision 3 Summit replaces NAPL's, NPES' and Printing Industries of America's individual leadership programs, including NAPL's Top Management Conference; NPES' Industry Summit that included the PRINT OUTLOOK Conference and PRIMIR Spring Meeting; and, Printing Industries of America's Presidents Conference. Both NAPL and NPES will hold their individual board of directors meetings in conjunction with this conference. Additionally PRIMIR will hold its Spring Meeting in conjunction with the Vision 3 Summit.

While the first co-produced conference by NAPL, NPES and Printing Industries of America, the Vision 3 Summit is not the first joint venture between the three organizations. NAPL, NPES and Printing Industries of America also co-own the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC), which produces the popular industry GRAPH EXPO and PRINT exhibitions.
