RealVue Forms Partnership With Xerox, Supplies Simulations for Xerox DocuColor iGen3

Press release from the issuing company

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 29 -- Xerox Corporation has selected RealVue Simulation Technologies to develop training simulations for printing digital color books using the DocuColor iGen3. Graph Expo 2003 will mark the release of the uPublisher Digital Learning Simulator, the first in a series of products developed by RealVue Simulation Technologies for Xerox to help customers leverage their investment in high end digital printing technology. As the result of a partnership between the two companies, Xerox customers will be able to use the Xerox uPublisher Digital Learning Simulator to access RealVue VistaReal simulations that teach them how to get the most out of the DocuColor iGen3. "The iGen3 offers users the opportunity to experience the innovative and cost-effective realm of digital color printing," said Gina Testa, Vice President, Customer Business Development, Production Color Business Unit, Xerox Corporation. "The simulations designed by RealVue are the first of many that will help customers learn how to access and use all of the features of Xerox products. We want to supply our customers with business development tools to help them grow their business and explore new market opportunities for digital printing, and the training they receive with the RealVue simulations opens up unlimited possibilities." These highly detailed training simulations can run on a PC, enabling production managers and operators to avoid tying up expensive production equipment while they learn new applications. The simulations allow users to gain realistic, hands-on experience for iGen3 applications and offer step-by- step training using a synthetic environment that displays the machinery, functions and possibilities of the iGen3 down to the smallest detail. "With the iGen3, Xerox has provided its customers with a publishing powerhouse that offers high-quality cost-effective digital color printing," said RealVue President and CEO Phil Ellett. "The RealVue simulations included in the uPublisher suite open up new possibilities for those customers, enabling them to learn how to optimize their use of the iGen3. We look forward to continuing our work with Xerox to develop simulations for a host of exciting new products." The uPublisher suite includes the following five RealVue-designed simulations: -- The Money of Color -- This module describes the tremendous possibilities for business development by training customers how to add a profitable application and business service to their clients. -- A Business Case -- Print sales professionals can utilize this module to evaluate appropriate use cases and conduct sample cost exercises for producing digital color books. -- How to Build a Digital Color Book -- Aimed at the production side of the print business, this learning module can be used to explore in detail the considerations required in printing digital color books. -- The Digital Book Workflow -- An animated overview of digital book printing on the iGen3, this module demonstrates the Xerox end-to-end book publishing solution and features a perfect binder as the inline finishing device. -- The Print a Book Simulation -- This module provides hands-on practicein producing digital color books with the iGen3. Within the simulation, learners have three example book applications they can build, each with a different in-line finishing option.
