Agfa Launches Project Management Tool for Publishers and Trade Shops
Press release from the issuing company
GRAPH EXPO (Booth #4041), Chicago, Illinois – September 28, 2003 – Agfa today announced the launch of :Delano Publish, an interactive, Web-based project management tool. :Delano Publish is designed for operations that handle page production, who wish to strengthen client relationships and streamline operations, making them more productive. :Delano Publish is a configuration of the :Delano project management family. It will be seen for the first time at Graph Expo at Agfa's booth (#4041).
:Delano Publish was developed for publishers or for those accounts or clients that offer in-house PDF-page production, for trade shops, page processing service bureaus or printers looking to offer Web-based PDF viewing and approval services. :Delano Publish is the critical tool that enhances relationships with customers and provides complete project management.
"Customers involved in the publishing end of the printing process have asked for, and now they have, a project management tool that is built entirely around their needs," said Deborah Hutcheson, senior marketing manager, workflow and color systems, North America. "Since :Delano Publish is based on standards such as PDF, JDF and XML, communication with clients and between departments is optimized, resulting in more efficient and profitable operations."
For example, :Delano Publish makes it easier for files to be submitted, checked and converted to PDF format. :Delano Publish offers online client collaboration for faster response times on page approvals and softproofing. It tracks all tasks and provides immediate feedback on their status. :Delano saves time, reduces redundancies and keeps users in complete control of every project.
"Our industry is looking to reduce costs, improve customer partnerships and improve best practices. :Delano Publish is a tool that will help publishers and trade shops to achieve this in their PDF production processes," said Lieven Callewaert, worldwide product & marketing manager for :Delano.
Other functions that :Delano Publish includes are:
Visualization of all pages in the product structure
Automated job processing
Generation of high-resolution, production-ready PDF
Messaging tool that keeps the users informed throughout the workflow
Page tracking with real-time status alerts.
Additionally, users can take advantage of a powerful proofing option that generates a color managed rendered contone file based on the high-resolution PDF production file.
:Delano Publish will be available by the end of the year.
