Alwan at Graph Expo records best sales at a show since Drupa 2008

Lyon, France - GraphExpo 2010 proved a huge success for Alwan Color Expertise, with the company registering its best trade show sales since Drupa 2008. The exhibition helped the French software innovator record a 28% year-on-year revenue increase. The company's flagship products, CMYK Optimizer ECO, which includes the unique Dynamic Ink Optimization technology, and PRINT Standardizer, which includes the unique Dynamic Press Calibration technology, accounted for more than 15 of the on-show and post-show sales.

Alwan shared two booths with Digital Information and Techkon USA, and attracted a stream of printing and publishing professionals. Alwan engineers conducted more than 30 demonstrations of its system-automated press calibration technology with Techkon SpectroDrive and Digital Information InkZone systems.

GraphExpo 2010 was also an excellent platform for Alwan to network and forge new relationships. Following the show, the company has entered into new partnership agreements with dealers in North America, increasing its sales network by 25%.   Alwan also generated interest among resellers worldwide. The company plans to explore new commercial opportunities with these resellers in the very near future.

New CMYK Optimizer and PRINT Standardizer 2.1 for G7 printers and presses
At GraphExpo, Alwan showcased its complete color standardization solution for the pressroom. The company ran demonstrations of its industry-leading CMYK Optimizer software with its unique transparency and color management features.  Demonstrations of PRINT Standardizer highlighted the software's raft of technical benefits, including its seamless interface with Techkon and X-Rite instruments; its dynamic analysis of measurements; its calculation of optimal dot gain compensation curves for the RIP, sheet and job conformity reports according to ISO 12647; and a new feature of version 2.1 – a grey balance report according to G7 metrics.

"This year's GraphExpo was a resounding success," says Dave Hunter, Alwan's representative for North America. "We generated excellent sales and significantly extended the reach of our sales network, which bodes very well for the future.

"It was also very heartening to see so many American printers appreciate the need to work to international standards. After witnessing the demonstrations on the booths, they could see how Alwan products are the most effective solutions for achieving such standardization."

PrintPlace.com wins a free KEE Consultants' Gap Analysis Audit sponsored by Alwan
Leading web-to-print provider PrintPlace.com won an ISO 12647 Standards Gap Analysis Audit at GraphExpo 2010. The company scooped the prize after entering a draw at the IDEAlliance G7 Summit. The competition was run by KEE Consultants and sponsored by Alwan Color Expertise.

The Gap Analysis Audit helps print service providers implement ISO 12647 standards in their printing processes. The competition successfully highlighted to the US print industry the need for international standards.

"Alwan's booth became a meeting point for experts, service providers and clients worldwide," says Elie Khoury, Alwan's President and founder of KEE Consultants. "Industry experts across the world have shown much interest in joining KEE Consultants' network to promote ISO 12647 standards. In early 2011 we will be hosting a special session to help them complete KEE Consultants and PSA (RIT's Printing Standard Audit) training."
