DriveLine C – the latest addition to the Linoprint product portfolio

Press release from the issuing company

Heidelberg - Linoprint is unveiling its new DriveLine C print system at FachPack 2010. The drop-on-demand inkjet system can be used as a stand-alone or integrated solution for applications such as flexible and customized printing of unbonded folding cartons or plastic cards. Linoprint is a business area of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), which provides companies in the packaging market with solutions for digital inkjet printing.

DriveLine C is a complete solution for packaging manufacturers consisting of a Linoprint printing unit, dryer, transport system, optional camera and ejector station. Initial field tests are planned for the end of 2010. Substrates up to 200 mm wide can currently be printed in a single color at a speed of 35 meters per minute and a resolution of 360 dpi. DriveLine C is a flexible solution for customers such as folding carton manufacturers requiring short and very short runs with high-quality imprinting. However, DriveLine C can also be used for many other products involving, for example, logos or different language versions.

Reliable control system – reliable labeling
The core components of the print solution are the print head and the UV LED dryer. Linoprint uses transport systems from Köra-Packmat for DriveLine C. The print solutions can also be ordered with a camera system. This system monitors, for example, the print image of data matrix codes used for pharmaceutical applications in order to ensure reliable product labeling.

The perfect combination of ink, substrate and print head
Regardless of whether the customer requires an abrasion-proof, scratch-proof or chemically resistant print, for instance, Linoprint precisely matches the ink and print head to the substrate surface and the requirements of the particular print product. The portfolio includes products such as low-migration inks from the Heidelberg range of Saphira consumables. These are particularly suitable for printing packaging in the food and pharmaceuticals industries.

Easy-to-understand user interface
DriveLine C systems are easy to use, just like all other print solutions from Linoprint. The user interface of the Linoprint software is very clearly arranged, print jobs can be set up quickly using the touchscreen, and a start and stop button is all that the operator requires once setup has been completed. The software can be adapted to a wide range of customer requirements and can be integrated fully into existing ERP systems.
