Others may purchase the report from the WhatTheyThink e-store:
"The second quarter of 2010 continued a welcome continuation of mild profitability for the industry," said Dr. Webb. "Much of the industry is still recovering from a very difficult 2009, and two quarters of profits can't really make up for that. But we're on the right track, even though there are still challenges ahead." Dr. Webb noted that profit levels have been improving because of the closure of weak print businesses and actions to consolidate the industry. "We must remember that just because the industry may be having a tough time, there are profitable companies who are offering innovative services to their clients. The restructuring of the industry will be built on the entrepreneurial actions of these firms that can find opportunities as iPads and e-books continue to change the way consumers seek and use information."
In the report, Dr. Webb reviews the latest trends in shipments, profits, and capacity measures for the industry. In this edition, he reviews the printing trends by state in terms of employment since 2005.
The Printing Profits Report contains both current and inflation-adjusted analysis of commercial printing and print services shipments and profits from 1995 to Q1-2010. The bonus audio file includes Dr. Webb's frank analysis, opinions, and strategic outlook. Containing Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint files, the cost of the report is $50.00 and features the audio commentary in MP3 format. Those purchasing the report can easily repurpose the charts and data for internal, client presentations, and reports.
