PEAK Receives Top Awards From Symbol Technologies

Press release from the issuing company

Columbia, Maryland (September 15, 2003) – PEAK Technologies, Inc., an international systems integrator of automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) equipment and systems and a Moore Wallace Incorporated company, received Exceptional Sales Achievement and Top Revenue Producer Global Partner Awards from Symbol Technologies, Inc., a global leader in enterprise mobility solutions. “With sales of about $20 million, PEAK had another banner year,” said Todd Abbott, senior vice president, worldwide sales & marketing, Symbol Technologies. “PEAK turns in an outstanding performance year after year because of its many capabilities,” Abbott said. “The first is that PEAK has built an international organization that gives it the ability to provide engineering, implementation and support services to companies that operate all over North America and Europe. These capabilities set PEAK apart in dealing with larger manufacturers and distributors that are looking for consistent performance and simplified project management while improving AIDC (automatic identification and data capture) throughout their operations. It’s also important to mention PEAK’s outstanding 370-person-strong service organization, the largest independent service organization in this business by far.” “This past year, PEAK built on its success in the high-end SAP R/3 ERP (enterprise resource planning) market by penetrating a number of new accounts. We have also worked closely with PEAK in targeting mobile solutions for the maintenance management market and had several major wins,” said Tom Croteau, Symbol’s channel business manager. “PEAK’s recent launch of the ePOD wireless proof-of-delivery product opens up the private fleet route delivery market and represents a major opportunity to expand our own sales,” Croteau continued. “The capability to deploy the networks, install equipment on the trucks, and integrate needed items from other suppliers makes PEAK an ideal partner in this area.” “While our organization is very proud of these achievements, we remain sharply focused on working with Symbol to continue to grow the business to new levels throughout 2003. Despite a slow economy, our collective teams continue to work together to identify new markets, applications and customers that will help further propel our relationship moving forward,” said Adrian Thomas, president and chief executive officer of PEAK Technologies.
