GMC Software AG Names Darryl R. Dobin President of the Americas

September 9, 2003 – Boston, MA and Appenzell, Switzerland – GMC Software AG, headquartered in Appenzell, Switzerland with worldwide sales and support operations, today announced the appointment of Darryl R. Dobin to President, GMC Software Technology Inc., the Americas. Reporting directly to Rene Mueller, CEO of GMC Software AG, Dobin will assume responsibility for all GMC subsidiary sales, support, marketing and operational activities throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America with a focus on growing GMC’s presence and leadership position in the Americas. “We are delighted to have a person of Darryl’s calibre and background taking the helm of our operations in the Americas,” stated Mueller. “He brings considerable business, management and technology experience to the position that will enable us to build and strengthen our position in the Americas. His primary focus at the outset will be on solidifying our infrastructure operations, expanding our market presence and sales pipeline, and in establishing a world-class partnership program with existing and future technology and business partners. He will also continue to build on and strengthen our customer support and service capabilities throughout the Americas.” Before joining GMC Software Technology, Dobin headed his own firm providing business development, sales and marketing strategy consulting services to enterprise software companies and other clients such as Adobe, Bottomline Technologies and Vestcom. Prior to that, he served as EVP & CMO for Avolent (an EBPP provider), president of NEPS Corporation (a Moore/Wallace company), president and COO of INSCI Inc. (a major digital archive and ESP provider), and held various management and executive management positions with Xerox and IBM. During his tenure with Xerox, Dobin led the creation and management of the Marketing Partnership Group to expand partnering with solution providers. While with IBM, he held increasingly responsible management and senior management positions in the course of his 22 year career, moving from Systems Engineer to leading the US Channel Strategy for IBM. “I am very impressed with GMC, its people, culture, customer focus, and its products and services,” stated Dobin. “We have some of the best technology and business solutions available to the worldwide marketplace, backed by an overriding commitment by the GMC team to provide our customers and business partners with the best service and support possible.
