Shweiki Media installs Pantera Perfect Binder

Press release from the issuing company

Today's printers face intense competition coupled with mounting challenges to satisfy customer demands.  But these challenges also present an opportunity to add value to their business.  Shweiki Media of San Antonio, Texas, specializes in short to medium size niche publication printing, encompassing a robust list of 250 titles.  In the past, they outsourced their perfect binding work, but since that part of their business is growing, they decided to offer the capability in-house.

After evaluating an array of adhesive binding options, Shweiki Media selected the Pantera Perfect Binder from Muller Martini.  According to Gal Shweiki, President and CEO, the machine's advanced technology was the driving force behind the decision to install the Primera.  Explained Mr. Shweiki, "We looked at several other bindery options, but the Pantera was the only binder that had the technology that allowed for short makeready and changeover times.  In addition, it features simple and clear operation, easy to run digital book blocks, and a wide range of sizes with a minimum thickness of 1/16."

Added Mr. Shweiki, "It is critical in this industry to keep up with technology.  Purchasing the Pantera Perfect Binder has enabled us to have more control of the quality of the product, reduce turnaround time, and, better still, save money for ourselves and our clients."

Equipment with advanced technology requires an on-going commitment form its manufacturer for effective and reliable support.  As Mr. Shweiki noted, "Purchasing a new piece of equipment doesn't guarantee success.  Muller Martini's sales and support staffs have helped make sure that the binder runs properly and that our staff is thoroughly trained on the machine.  Their dedication and commitment make us feel like they are partners in our success."

With the Pantera, several binding processes can be flexibly implemented in the performance range of up to 4,000 cycles per hour.  In addition to conventional hotmelt binding, fast emerging PUR processing is also supported.  Other Pantera advantages include:
- Easy operation via touchscreen monitor
- Interactive setup assistant Companion
- Minimal space requirement

Another key advantage is that the Pantera grows with your business.  Flexible and expandable, it offers a broad range of formats and host of options that allow a bindery to tackle a diverse range of orders.  In addition, a compact design featuring numerous variants is possible, even if space is limited.  The scalable options range from standalone manual machinery right through to a complete industrial binding line with three-knife trimmer and counter stacker for three-shift operation.
