The white paper, entitled "How Sustainable Packaging is Shaping the Future for Business," details the key developments and considerations driving sustainability initiatives that printers and others involved in the packaging industry should keep in mind. Topics covered by the white paper include:
- The business case for sustainable packaging
- Walmart's sustainability initiatives
- The Sustainable Packaging Coalition
- A life cycle approach to achieving sustainability, and
- Particular sustainability considerations for the print industry, including the print provider's scorecard; recycling practices; energy and water conservation; sustainable ink, varnishes and coatings; printing press equipment; and key certifications.

"Businesses are facing a growing expectation that they have considered sustainability as part of their packaging design and production decisions," said Susan Baines, director of marketing for Komori America Corporation.  "Komori is committed to protecting the environment and believes that the print industry can play an important role in these sustainability initiatives."

Issuing the white paper on sustainable packaging is just part of the company's efforts to provide its customers with information and solutions to address their unique business issues.  In addition to the white paper, Komori America recently sponsored a sustainable packaging conference and plans to continue to engage in similar activities in the future that are highly relevant to their customers.
