Unisource recognizes SGP certification in respect printers' program

Press release from the issuing company

Norcross, GA – Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, and The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) have announced a collaboration agreement that includes recognizing SGP-certified printers in Unisource's popular respect Printers' Program.

The Unisource respect Printers' Program identifies sustainable-based printers that use papers that are renewable, recyclable and maintain reforestation attributes.  As part of this collaboration, Unisource will now list SGP certified printers on the unisourcegreenfinder, an online search tool used by corporate specifiers, designers and end-users to locate green certified printers.  The unisourcegreenfinder is available in the paper area of unisourcegreen.com.

"Unisource's partnership with SGP represents a shared commitment to corporate social responsibility," said Ed Farley, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Unisource.  "SGP's program goes beyond environmental considerations by including corporate citizenship considerations in its process, and we are proud to announce that its certification will be recognized by Unisource's respect Printers' Program," said Farley.

Unisource supports SGP's non-profit mission of encouraging and promoting participation in the movement to increase social responsibility of the print and graphic communications industry through sustainable green practices.  The companies will co-promote the new recognition throughout their networks, including information, videos and FAQs so interested parties are able to access relevant information about sustainable printers and printing initiatives.
