GWG updates Ad Ticket at request of IDEAlliance Publishers' Forum

Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, Belgium - At the request of the IDEAlliance eMedia21 for Publishers' Forum, the Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) Job Ticket subcommittee has updated its ad ticket profile, called GWG_v1.2_AD.

As a member of GWG, IDEAlliance provides its membership with representation in the GWG specification development process.  Recently, the IDEAlliance eMedia21 Publishers Forum evaluated the GWG Job Ticket for use in the North American market and identified a number of additional fields that they require. This request was submitted by IDEAlliance for inclusion in the GWG Job Ticket specification, so it could meet the requirements of IDEAlliance membership.  The resulting update of the GWG ad ticket profile contains the same basic functions as GWG_v1.1_AD, but now also confirms:
- Whether a hard-copy proof was sent
- If the accompanying advertisement replaces a previous version

Dianne Kennedy, IDEAlliance Vice President of Information and Media Technologies, says, "The creation of the new ad ticket is a great example of what is starting to result from the collaboration of our organizations. IDEAlliance and the eMedia21 publishers are thrilled at the speed and accuracy by which the GWG accomplished this task. Publishers are already benefiting."

The GWG_v1.2_AD specification is currently being adopted at the vast majority of key publishing workflows in the US.
