Prism affirms print MIS trend toward mobile management information at IPEX 2010

Press release from the issuing company

Colchester, UK - The printing industry expects print management system access to real time, mobile management information via smart phones, Internet browsers, and VPNs to company networks. At IPEX Hall 9, Stand E317 in Birmingham, UK, from May 18-25, Prism will introduce enabling technology, mobileMIS, demonstrating mobile Key Performance Indicator dashboards, mobile quotations, mobile warehouse management, and mobile machine, job, and performance monitoring on mobile phones and browsers. This technology is an extension of Prism's management information system, WIN, and production management system, QTMS. Both solutions offer end-to-end management of medium to large printing companies in a fully integrated, modular software and hardware solution.

"Business intelligence is the lifeblood of a successful company," says Filip Buyse, President and CEO of Prism. "Prism's customers depend on WIN and QTMS all day, every day, to manage their businesses and our mobileMIS technology will give them continued visibility into this business intelligence when and where they need it."

Consumers increasingly expect to bank when and where they chose, order products through their mobile device, and stay connected to friends and family wherever there is a WiFi or 3G signal. These same expectations are valid for running their companies.  Management information is now available on the go at any time of day or night to check machine status and job performance, request quotes and check order status among many other tasks.  "Our research shows that the expectations of all of us, as consumers, extend into how we expect to manage and run our businesses," comments Tim Daisy, Prism's Marketing Manager. "Social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace allow us to keep in contact with what our friends and family are doing. Similarly, mobileMIS allows us to stay in contact with what is happening in our production facilities. Prism will be demonstrating mobileMIS and how it can contribute toward profitable business during IPEX.  Key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards allow a high level view into business performance, and QTMS dashboards give a view into machine speeds, status, operators, and quantities."
