Screen Truepress Jet2500UV at International Sign Expo 2010

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Different applications demand different printing technologies. At ISA International Sign Expo 2010, Screen (USA) will demonstrate the Truepress Jet2500UV’s advancements in image quality and throughput.

The grand-format inkjet printing system not only opens up new business opportunities for existing sign makers and display producers but also commercial printers looking to tap into a lucrative market. Visitors will be able to see the 98.4-inch machine’s outstanding quality work on a range of materials.

The Truepress Jet2500UV delivers photo-realistic color printing when imaging fine detail or high-density areas. In addition to supporting a maximum output resolution of 1,500 dpi, the Truepress Jet2500UV features a grayscale printhead with eight levels.

The Truepress Jet2500UV allows printing companies to produce billboards, banners, window graphics, building wraps and other innovative displays. Thanks to its true hybrid capabilities, the choice of media is virtually unlimited. Featuring both roll-to-roll and rigid media transport systems, the Truepress Jet2500UV prints directly onto paper, vinyl film, banners and textiles, as well as metal, wood and plastic.

“The combination of high-precision output and high-speed printing on roll-fed or flatbed material gives customers flexibility and innovation,” said Bill Brunone, vice president of targeted inkjet systems for Screen (USA). “Larger-than-life displays provide an affordable, attention-getting option for putting messages out to the public. Whether printing on fabric, vinyl or rigid substrates, the Truepress Jet2500UV accommodates strong, custom graphics and faithful colors in order to define the end users’ brands, promote upcoming events or roll out new products.”

Amazing image exposure is a hallmark of the Truepress Jet2500UV. For example, the Truepress Jet2500UV is ideal for large-scale multimedia promotions in which the client creates several poster designs and only prints a small run of each.

“In multimedia campaigns, color uniformity across different media is critical to expanding the range of expression that the end user can incorporate into the advertisements,” Brunone explained. “The ability to print onto various media with a single printing system is integral to projecting a unified image.”

The ultrafine UV inks have a wider color gamut than those used in offset printing systems. The Truepress Jet2500UV comes standard with four process colors and is optionally available for printing up to seven colors, including a pre-white function. The fast-drying UV inks improve production and turnaround.

Key features of the Truepress Jet2500UV:
• Production speed up to 366 square feet per hour
• Maximum output size: roll-to-roll 98.4 inches wide x 164 feet long or flatbed 98.4 inches wide x 51.1 inches long
• Support for media up to 1.96 inches thick
• Maximum resolution of 1,500 dpi
• Drop-on-demand, eight-level grayscale printhead
• Variable drop size from 6 picoliters to 42 picoliters

“With the Truepress Jet2500UV, innovative new inks and substrates create exciting products and new revenue streams in this market.” Brunone said. “Image quality is no longer a barrier for many applications. In addition, overall productivity drives profitability.”
