Nearly a year after the takeover by the investor Powerflute OYJ, the traditional manufacturer of high quality premium paper, Papierfabrik Scheufelen, is ready to innovate and invest. In the next few months, several million Euros will be invested at the Lenningen site to support Scheufelen's claims to high quality in the future.
The new CEO of Scheufelen, Dr. Michael Spallart, who was appointed on the first of December this year, relies on an extremely motivated team to do this. Even in the company's critical phase in the previous year, the market launch of the innovative TrendLine product heaven 42 was driven forward with great commitment. New developments in the premium segment are foreseen to add to the premium brands PhoeniXmotion, Job Parilux, Consort Royal, heaven 42, and the coated products BVS and BRO, that are marketed worldwide.
From Scheufelen's point of view the uncompromising premium quality of its paper products can only be achieved with the most modern technology, continual further development in paper manufacturing techniques and highly qualified know how. Thus Scheufelen is continuing the traditions that have grown over five generations and its firmly anchored company philosophy, which has openness for innovation and initiative as its guiding themes. The stable and successful continuation of the company has strengthened Dr. Spallart in his central ideals. Alongside respect in dealing with people, the environment and machinery, these involve trust above all as the basis for cooperation and not least continuously high product quality. The Scheufelen brand stands for the paper maker's art, which is demonstrated again every day. Paper products are offered in three categories to meet customer wishes. The worldwide marketed range extends from the product BVS from the BasicLine, through heaven 42, the latest TrendLine product, up to the ExclusiveLine, whose products meet the highest demands for aesthetics and reproduction. With its high capacity for innovation Scheufelen decisively influences the development of the premium paper brand.
Production capacities also continue to be adjusted to the market situation. Scheufelen has also felt the global economic crisis, the changes and the massive pressure of the market. Dr. Spallart assesses the current situation realistically: "In the face of the massive cost pressure in the energy sector, the renewed increase in prices for raw materials and logistics overall, Scheufelen will also have to react with a price adjustment in the near future. The outlook for the high quality paper that is produced in Lenningen is contributing positively to the development of the company due to its quality and differentiation."
