Nine PIAMS member firms honored at 2009 Colorado Environmental Leadership Awards

On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 nine PIAMS member firms received recognition at the event held in the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts with 350 in attendance. In addition, for the first time since the program was initiated a printing firm was awarded the prestigious "Gold Leader" recognition. That firm is Unique Litho of Englewood Colorado.
    
The Master of Ceremonies for the event was CBS4's Alan Gionet. Also on hand was Governor Ritter who addressed the audience on his green initiatives. The event included display tables to give attendees the opportunity to find out more about environmentally friendly options including one with PIAMS and Colorado's SBAP showcasing print, paper and PIAMS Green Member Printers as viable green options.

Special thanks were also given to Henry Wurst and Unisource for the printing and paper they donated for the program and directory for the event – both PIAMS members. The PIAMS Sustainable Management System training program, developed specifically for the printing industry, was highlighted in the event program.

PIAMS would like to thank the Print Council, International Paper and Unisource for their contributions of materials proving print's sustainability for the PIAMS/SBAP display table.
