Agfa's Inkjet Solutions Provide New Business Opportunities

Press release from the issuing company

Agfa Graphics announced today that Davies Printing, a third-generation commercial printer located in Rochester, MN (USA) has been able to expand its products and services thanks to the addition of the :Anapurna M UV-inkjet printing system.

Davies Printing uses the :Anapurna M to create high quality posters and signage and it allowed for the elimination of laminating and mounting when printing posters for both indoor and outdoor use. With the :Anapurna M, Davies has the ability to print right onto a variety of rigid substrates and its UV inks are highly resistant to fading, which eliminates the need for laminating.

"The :Anapurna M gave us the opportunity to get into another market and provide our customers with signage," said Mark Dripps, of Davies Printing. "With the economy the way it is, the :Anapurna M has been letting us keep work in the shop and money coming in the door."

Agfa's :Anapurna M is a wide format industrial six-color UV inkjet printer that produces highly saturated, vivid colors for indoor and outdoor signs and displays. With a print resolution of 720x1440 dpi, Agfa's :Anapurna line of inkjet printers use fast drying UV curable inks that print directly on coated and uncoated rigid media like foam board, cardboard, acrylic and metal in addition to roll media.

"Davies Printing is a wonderful success story. They are a commercial printer who refused to sit on the sidelines and watch their customers' needs be met elsewhere. By integrating wide format UV inkjet printing they are able to provide a wider range of services and in doing so they are keeping jobs in-house that previously would have been produced by another vendor," said Deborah Hutcheson, senior marketing manager, Commercial and Wide Format Segments, Agfa Graphics, North America.

Agfa's portfolio of inkjet solutions can be seen at ISA's International Sign Expo 2009 ( Booth #3953) April 16 -18 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA).
