BÖWE BELL + HOWELL and Data-Pac Announce Distribution Agreement

Press release from the issuing company

DURHAM, N.C., Dec. 18, 2008 – BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH), a leading provider of high-performance document management solutions and services, and Data-Pac, a leading provider of postage accounting and postage metering solutions, have signed a distribution agreement that enables BBH to integrate, sell and service Data-Pac postage accounting software and postage metering equipment.

“Our goal is to offer customers solutions that enable new levels of efficiency and value as the mailing process becomes more data-rich and connected,” said Mark Van Gorp, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL vice president of business development. “Data-Pac has demonstrated innovation and leadership, and its solutions complement our vision.”

“BÖWE BELL + HOWELL has a solid reputation for providing reliable solutions and high-quality service, and we believe the partnership between the companies will provide a winning combination for customers,” said Dick Yankloski, chief executive officer of Data-Pac.

The addition of the Data-Pac line provides BBH customers with additional opportunities to benefit from U.S. Postal Service regulatory changes – in particular, the transition to the Intelligent Mail™ Barcode in 2009.  Piece-level information will be increasingly important as mailers seek to minimize the causes and probability of errors as items move through the mail stream.  The combination of Data-Pac’s eSMART-MAiL, the industry standard for postage accounting software, and BÖWE One software, BBH’s leading automated document factory solution, provides production mailers with visibility into the mail stream and control over their processes, creating a powerful, piece-level cost accounting solution.

Data-Pac also recently received approval to manufacture the Postal Service’s America 2 Postage Meter, which can be integrated with Data-Pac’s Digital Inserter Base.  These systems can be installed on BBH inserting systems, at the customer’s site or on the factory floor, providing highly reliable solutions for high-volume production mailers.

The agreement also provides support for Data-Pac systems through BBH Services, which includes a nationwide network of field service representatives, backed by one of the most advanced technological infrastructures in the industry.
