Leo Burnett's Jim Mikol To Speak At Pictorial University

Press release from the issuing company

Carlstadt, NJ, May 3, 2007 - Pictorial Offset Corporation, the largest privately-owned, single-facility commercial printer in the United States, is proud to announce that Jim Mikol, Executive Vice President, Director of Print Management for Leo Burnett Advertising Agency headquartered in Chicago, will be speaking at the May 15th session of Pictorial University in Teaneck, New Jersey. Jim will be speaking at Pictorial University on “What Quality Means to a Brand.” Jim’s experiences with Kraft Foods, along with his more recent experience at Leo Burnett, make him the perfect speaker for this topic. His department is responsible for all print production from national publication ads and inserts to outdoor and direct mail. Leo Burnett is one of the largest agency print producers in the country. To that end Mikol is very involved in creating an efficient digital production process and innovative solutions to client’s problems. He recently hosted symposiums in Singapore and Beijing on digital solutions for the print and publishing worlds. Before coming to Burnett in 1998, he was Director of Creative Services at Kraft Foods for 19 years. His responsibilities there ran from the initial creative production through print, as well as production of events and large scale meetings. He led the transformation of their large commercial photo studio to a digital studio and established a web-based image bank of all Kraft images for reuse and repurposing. Mikol has the unique background of working for a client, a vendor and an agency. His perspective is that a solution has to work on many levels to achieve the main goal of client satisfaction. He is a frequent speaker on the digital process and print production to groups like Primex, London’s PrintMedia conference, IPA, the GATF, IDEAlliance, DDAP, P3 and local production clubs. He is an advocate of technology-based solutions and client-focused answers to production problems. In 2002 he was elected to Print Media’s Hall of Fame. He has a degree in Communication Arts from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and has done graduate work in film and law. He lives with his wife of 32 years in Riverside, Illinois and has four children. Pictorial University welcomes print buyers, marketing managers, corporate communications professionals, graphic designers and advertising agencies to its classes. We also welcome members of AIGA-NY, P-3, APC-NY and IdeAlliance that are in these professions.
