Press release from the issuing company
BOSTON; December 8, 2008 -- The Tom McMillan Foundation today announced that Irvin Press, of Press+, has accepted an invitation to join the organization's founders as a contributing partner. The foundation recently completed its 10th year by presenting its annual Tom McMillan Award for Editorial Excellence to Patrick Henry at Graph Expo 2008. The award is presented annually to the graphic communications industry editor or writer who, according to their peers, exhibits the highest standards of journalistic integrity and professionalism.
In his role with the Tom McMillan Foundation, Irv Press will work with founders Craig Kevghas, Helene Smith and John Hebert on new initiatives designed to increase the visibility of the charitable organization and its primary roles in awarding the Tom McMillan Award for Editorial Excellence and raising funds to support the Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation of PIA/GATF.
"We're quite pleased to have Irv Press join us in raising the profile of the Tom McMillan Foundation as it begins its second decade," noted Kevghas, echoing the sentiments of Hebert and Smith.
"I am honored to be working with my peers to help raise scholarship funds for future print industry leaders, while recognizing the exceptional work of journalists in our industry," remarked Press.
