INX International, INX Digital to unveil new products at PRINT '09

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL -  INX International Ink. Co and INX Digital International Co. (booth 4848) have experienced a breakthrough year in efforts to expand their sustainable products and digital technology roster.  This commitment carries over into PRINT '09 with new product introductions and demonstrations at the show, to be held September 11-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

INX International will display the recently introduced EcoTech process color inks and ProCure UV Soy coatings.  INX Digital will unveil a new MD660 flatbed digital printer and its first narrow web press, in addition to offering a new can printing technology preview using high quality, high-speed digital technology for short-run production.

"Both companies are offering outstanding products that the industry is ready for and we expect they will be well received," said INX President and CEO Rick Clendenning.  "These products represent both research and technology that is developed for today's environment and economy.  We committed years ago to designing new advances in technology with the environment and customer in mind.  Our products at PRINT '09 reflect this commitment and we believe the impact will create both healthier pressrooms and safer products for consumers."

INX Digital will accomplish this using their EVOLVE branding concept to help traditional printers and converters evolve to digital printing with industrial inkjet systems.  The new MD660 UV flatbed printer quickly and inexpensively delivers real-metal sample proofs in minutes for short-run production of decorative tins, general line containers and aerosols.  An upgrade from the original MD600 which represented the first short-run digital production solution for metal decorating, the MD660 achieves extremely high resolution at over 1000 dpi on coated and uncoated aluminum or steel substrates using proven and reliable printhead technology.

The EVOLVE concept will be used to roll out the new high-speed, single-pass UV LED-curing narrow web press.  It delivers brilliant full-color output at through-cure speeds up to 80' per minute.  Using patented Xaar printhead technology, it will be demonstrated in the booth.

A new technology for can printing will also be featured in the booth.  Designed for short-run production, this new option offers high quality, single or multi-pass through-cured 4-color output with an advanced UV LED-curing system with hybrid UV inks.  The preview includes hand-mounted cans on a mandrel that will be sent through a print tunnel and final curing chamber.

The EcoTech process color inks have been registered in the NAPIM Bio-Derived Renewable Resource (BRC) certification program. Over 65 percent of its content is bio-derived and these  inks also conform to ISO 2846-1 standards and are suitable to GRACoL G7 certification.  The three new ProCure UV Soy coatings include standard gloss, imprintable gloss and matte.  Formulated with varying amounts of renewable source soy content, expect high performance with most sheetfed and flexo inks and a range of substrates including film, paper and board.

The INX booth also will feature its best-in-class energy curable product line, including Fusion hybrid inks, INX Cure UV Web, INXFlex UV Flexo, and specialty inks and coatings.  The emphasis on energy curable specialty products stems from the major motivation for using UV/EB products, which includes increased productivity, improved physical properties, reduced costs and environmental compliance.
