Agfa Graphics to Launch New UV Wide-Format Line

Press release from the issuing company

Agfa Graphics today announced that it will launch breakthrough printing quality and speed enhancements for digital screen printing with the new :M-Press Tiger at the International FESPA Digital 2009 exhibition (Hall 5/G90) in RAI, Amsterdam May 12 - 14, 2009. The system is the fastest in its class and offers print quality and productivity to match traditional screen printing. Also a snapshot of Agfa Graphics new portfolio of wide-format inkjet solutions will be demonstrated at FESPA Digital 2009 and this includes major new product launches.

According to Richard Barham, VP Inkjet at Agfa Graphics: "Agfa Graphics' UV inkjet solutions now span the widest applications, expanding customers' capabilities and offering real economical solutions to today's challenging market environment. We have new printing shuttles for the :M-Press Tiger and a new family of wide-format systems. This will change customers' expectations of what digital printing can deliver. We will show the :Anapurna M2, the fastest printer in its segment with many automation enhancements. We will also launch the :Anapurna Mw which brings high-end white printing technology to the entry-level market. Both are revolutionary in their class."

- :Anapurna M² (squared). This includes the first implementation of 6 new double sized print heads, each with 1024 nozzles and a unique vacuum strength-control system for smooth substrate transport at high speeds. The shuttle safety sensors protect the print heads and media loading is made easy with media registration bars and automated head height adjustment. Also an ionizer bar prevents electrostatic loads on the substrate, which ensures optimum ink droplet positioning for the highest print quality.

- :Anapurna Mw (white) makes its world debut at FESPA Digital. :Anapurna Mw adds pre- or post- white to the :Anapurna M series and creates new possibilities for printing on transparent material, for backlit applications or printing white as a spot colour. It combines photographic reproduction quality with white functionality. Additionally the :Anapurna Mw comes with the same automation enhancement features as the :Anapurna M2 complete with a fully separate white ink management system to ensure maximum opacity and system reliability.

- The :Anapurna Mv (varnish) is a six-colour, flatbed, wide-format UV inkjet printer designed for printing high-quality signs and displays. With the :Anapurna Mv you can add gloss effects to enhance the look and feel of your designs with spot varnish or overall varnish. This is unique for this category of printers. Adding varnish will make the print look more vibrant.

Both the :Anapurna Mv and the :Anapurna Mw deliver exceptional results for indoor and outdoor applications on uncoated rigid media, such as corrugated boards, rigid plastics, exhibition panels, as well as roll media such as film, vinyl and canvas. At the Agfa stand at FESPA Digital 2009, the German artist, Peter Lorenz, will merge digital technology with traditional painting to create extravagant art with a very personal touch.
