(November 13, 2008) Even greater support for web press users: manroland Asia Pacific is expanding its activities in the Southeast Asian region. The Market Organization of German press manufacturer manroland has strengthened its presence in Indonesia since autumn 2008. Initial preparations for user support in Vietnam as well are in full swing.
manroland Asia Pacific was founded in 1992 and has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from where it supports the parent company’s customers. “We take care of technical service for manroland web presses in Southeast Asia. Our expatriate specialists provide expertise technical support and advice, while qualified staff speak the regional languages which is a big plus for customer contact”, explains K S Ng, Managing Director of manroland Asia Pacific. Besides countries such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, the Market Organization has strengthened its technical support for Indonesia and Vietnam as well. “Broadening our activities to include other countries is our response to the growing demand from customers and a measure that optimizes our services portfolio. As a result there are also more service specialists, both expatriate and local, available locally”, says K S Ng. With printservices, manroland Asia Pacific offers a complete portfolio of services and support that covers project management, classic repair work, thermographic inspection as well as process optimization. This latter-mentioned printservices includes upgrades for PECOM and electronic systems, along with maintenance and mechanical audits. MAN Ferrostaal is responsible for webfed, sheetfed press sales and sheetfed service in the Southeast Asian region.
Satisfied customers are loyal customers
The customers are satisfied. For instance in May 2008 Thairath Daily, the highest-circulation daily newspaper in Thailand, continued its longstanding cooperation with manroland. Both companies signed a service contract, for overhauling and upgrading its six GEOMAN presslines, at drupa 2008 and this was the largest individual service contract manroland has ever concluded.
