Emmingen, August 5th, 2008 – Atlantic Zeiser, supplier of dedicated personalization and coding systems, will feature live demonstrations of a complete web-to-web-system for narrow web applications at Labelexpo, September 9-11th, 2008 in Chicago, USA. The demonstrations, taking place daily at Stand 5604, will showcase Atlantic Zeiser's OMEGA 36 HD, its newest high resolution inkjet printing system, the OMEGA 36/36i, a high quality digital inkjet printer featuring drop-on-demand array jet technology, and the eco-friendly SMARTCURE LED UV curing device. Attendees can see for themselves how Atlantic Zeiser's UV inkjet solutions ensure high quality printing on challenging label substrates.
Full-spectrum solution for difficult substrates
Dr. Hans Wyssmann, VP Marketing, comments: “During Labelexpo we'll show how our integrated narrow web solution effectively resolves the problem of printing on difficult substrates. It's just one example of how Atlantic Zeiser, as a full service system integrator, can provide a customized combination of solutions that can be tailored to the customer’s individual requirements, such as late stage product differentiation, flexible package production, and labeling for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors."
Atlantic Zeiser's demonstration at Labelexpo will be configured using the following solutions: a web-to-web system from Prati (Italy), the OMEGA 36 HD – UV inkjet head with 720 dpi resolution, the OMEGA 36 – UV inkjet head with spot color (blue) and the SMARTCURE LED UV curing device.
The OMEGA family of printers offers flexible and application-oriented inkjet printing solutions for print widths up to 210 mm and up to 720 dpi resolution. The OMEGA 36 HD (“High Definition”) printer supports complex encoding within the smallest space requirements. Working in combination with Atlantic Zeiser’s proprietary inks, the OMEGA 36 HD ensure clear, crisp 720 dpi resolution of extremely small font sizes, foreign characters, graphics and logos. Bar codes are produced with excellent legibility. The result is perfect print quality and high readability for all kinds of scanners and readers. The OMEGA HD is the ideal choice for paper and carton, as well as specialized materials such as aluminum, polymer foils and plastics. This lightweight and compact printer easily integrates into most existing equipment.
The OMEGA 36/36i is a versatile digital inkjet printer featuring drop-on-demand array jet technology, and efficiently performs variable data printing on a wide variety of substrates. It supports spot color and full color to match the customer's specific corporate identity requirements. During Labelexpo, the printer's UV inkjet head will be configured for blue spot color. The OMEGA printheads achieve the quality of flexographic printing, enabling customers to partially replace other analogue printing technologies like flexo or screenprinting.
The OMEGA 210 rounds out the OMEGA line, offering a simple one head design for uninterrupted printing across 210 mm width. The combination of Atlantic Zeiser’s high contrast inks and reliable and proven OMEGA inkjet heads ensures superb, crisp print quality with no visible stitching lines for seamless printing across the whole print head width. Detailed information on the OMEGA 210 will be available at Labelexpo.
The SMARTCURE 36/36i, the latest innovation in the SMARTCURE Series, offers the ultimate advancements in second generation LED UV curing. Atlantic Zeiser's LED UV curing solution is eco-friendly, with significantly lower energy consumption compared to lamp-based systems, a ten time longer lifetime, no ozone generation and lower cooling requirements. The cost-saving SMARTCURE is equipped with an instant on/off functionality to eliminate energy consumption during machine stops. The compact size facilitates easy integration.
Digitally printed Braille fonts
During Labelexpo, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about BRAILLEJET, Atlantic Zeiser's new high quality printing system for Braille, the touchable font for blind people. BRAILLEJET provides an innovative and accurate solution for the personalization and encoding needs of the packaging industry and pharmaceutical market. Revolutionary new micro valve technology enables Braille fonts to be printed using UV curable high-viscosity ink and to achieve immediate fixation of the dots. The result is optimum readability and exceptional dot clarity. BRAILLEJET offers superior technical advantages, combining the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of digital printing, with the capability to easily print variable data. The expensive setup costs associated with silk-screen printing or embossing are totally eliminated. BRAILLEJET makes it easy to switch from one job to another. One print head prints two Braille lines simultaneously – the print width can be increased by seamless stitching of additional heads.
Atlantic Zeiser's demonstration at Labelexpo will include its latest in-house inks. Perfectly adapted to the OMEGA printer range and LED UV curing solutions, these special fast-curing inks ensure high contrast combined with optimal adhesion to non-absorbent substrates.
In addition to inkjet printing systems, proprietary printing inks, dryer and curing units, Atlantic Zeiser also provides total solutions with personalization technologies and transport units that are integrated according to the customer’s requirements. Company executives and technicians will be available during Labelexpo to speak with customers about their particular application requirements.
