HELIOS Announces Remote Collaboration Solution at drupa
Press release from the issuing company
Hannover, Germany May 26, 2008 -- HELIOS Software GmbH, a leading developer of cross-platform networking, PDF UB fully utilizes the benefits of PDF in existing production environments. Automated server-based PDF generation, PDF printing, PDF OPI, PDF preflight and batch tools boost productivity, and overcome today's PDF problems, and image server adds PDF file format support. HELIOS PrintPreview adds PS/EPS vector conversion support. WebShare allows web-based remote OPI, image and document previews solutions for Mac, Windows, and web clients, will present the new HELIOS WebShare UB+ enhancement WebShare Manager at drupa 2008 (hall 9 booth #E23).
Remote collaborators and service providers can "Drag & Drop" images and other layout objects straight from the web browser into Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress documents. The WebShare Manager and related program extensions handle the download and update of the high resolution images behind the scenes. This new collaboration technique will be a great time and cost saver as there is no need to log in to a central server via FTP or VPN, select a range of images, compress, download, and finally locally uncompress and place them.
HELIOS WebShare Manager can be configured to automatically synchronize all layout assets for a production document that are loaded via "Drag & Drop". As soon as a file is modified on the central server, it will be downloaded by the remote WebShare Manager. Even the synchronization of files modified locally with the main server will be possible. Using HELIOS WebShare Manager for data synchronization and distribution will reduce project related communication to a large extent.
HELIOS Software will offer a range of short seminars at drupa 2008, that give more detailed information about the new features and related benefits. The "Customer retention using WebShare" seminar will present how to collaborate with remote customers, contractors and employees worldwide to increase productivity using the new Web-based DTP "Drag & Drop" workflow with synchronization. It will also discuss implementing Web-based remote file distribution, and image and document proofing processes. Advance online registration at http://www.helios.de/news/drupa/seminar-registration.phtml is strongly recommended.
