Polestar Commercial Director on a 3000-mile trek to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society

Press release from the issuing company

(May 22, 2008) Polestar Commercial Director, motorbike-mad Chris Barker is setting off next month on a 3000-mile trek across Europe astride his BMW 1200 GS to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Taking in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Austria, the journey will be a labour of love, as Chris explains: “I have always wanted to tour on my bike and I am looking forward to seeing Eastern Europe, which is about as far as I can go in the 14 days I have. Crossing the Alps, including the infamous Stelvio Pass, will be an adventure as well!”

He continues: “I have chosen the Alzheimer’s Society because, in addition to being the Polestar corporate charity, my mother now suffers from this terrible disease and I want to raise as much money as possible to help the charity’s research programmes as well as their support of families like ours who are now living with the consequences of it.”
