Middle Eastern Printers Expand Production With Tensor Equipment

WOODRIDGE, IL (April 16, 2007) – Tensor Group, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of web offset press equipment, has recently sold new presses at several daily newspaper printers in Kuwait. The Tensor T-1400 single-width series equipment has proven to be a popular choice in this region for new press equipment purchases as well as for add-on equipment. Al Watan purchased seven (7) T-1400 4-high towers and one (1) H-50 heavy-duty jaw folder. The towers include motorization, sock dampening and EPG remote inking. The project also includes eight (8) splicers, seven (7) turnbars, Baldwin dampening and a shafted drive system. Al Seyassah has added additional equipment to the firm’s existing Tensor equipment. Three (3) additional Tensor T-1400 series 4-high towers and one (1) H-50 heavy-duty jaw folder plus auxiliaries were included in the latest purchase. Al Seyassah now boasts a total of forty-eight (48) printing units and two (2) H-50 folders. Al Khat purchased eight (8) Tensor T-1400 series 4-high towers and one (1) H-50 folder with quarter-folder. The recent heatset purchase also includes auxiliary equipment including splicers, web drying system and chill roll stands, Baldwin, Nela, EPG and a shafted drive system. Al Rai Al Aam purchased equipment to add onto its existing Tensor press. The purchase included one (1) Tensor T-1400 series 4-high tower and one (1) H-50HD folder with 14-web capacity, a multiple RTF design and double under folder leads. Auxiliary equipment on the order includes splicers, EPG remote inking and an STI stacker. Tensor’s T-1400 offers a proven, ergonomical design with the added benefit of retaining a consistently economical value over the lifetime of the press. The unique “bearing-in-a-bearing” eccentric design provides optimum dynamic support of the blanket cylinders, reducing print disturbance. Stainless steel clad cylinders with unique tapered journals add stiffness for improved print and registration control. The arch geometry design allows ease of access for operators.
