Navigator GPS 8 is the latest version of the popular Navigator line of RIPs and workflow solutions based on Harlequin-RIP core technology. Navigator GPS 8 provides enhanced support for the latest page description languages including PDF 1.7 and XPS.

ExpressConnect, offers small to medium size commercial printers a complete web-based job submission and online proofing solution that can be incorporated with most workflows. A printer's customers will be able to submit their PDFs or PostScript files via ExpressConnect anytime day or night. Once submitted, PDF files are automatically preflighted. If PostScript files are submitted, the integrated PDF Creator option generates a normalized PDF and then preflights the PDF file. ExpressConnect prices will begin at under $10,000 for a complete solution.

"ExpressConnect was developed to provide small and medium commercial printers the online submission and proofing capabilities previously afforded only by the larger shops," Mark Eisenschenk, Xitron's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Xitron continues to focus our product development efforts on providing innovative and cost effective solutions for this market segment."

TotalProof Raster is the latest in proofing plug-ins for the Navigator RIP and Navigator GPS workflows. This new plug-in creates a raster PDF of the actual output file that will be sent to the final output devices thus allowing the printer to provide a RIPped file proof to their customers. TotalProof Raster is an option to Navigator 8 and Navigator GPS 8 workflow solutions.

Xitron will extend their support in the on-demand printer market with support for the Oki Data 9600, 9650, Xante Illumina and Xerox Phaser 7400 color printers with s new plug-in and proofing RIP option for the Navigator RIP and Navigator GPS workflow solutions. The plug-in enhances the abilities of these on-demand devices by adding a commercial printer quality RIP to drive the device increasing the ability to control output quality.

Xitron products are available through a network of OEMs, distributors, dealers, and system integrators worldwide. Xitron RIPs and workflow solutions drive more than 250 different output devices ranging from black and white and color proofers to film imagesetters and the latest in CTP and direct-to-press systems.
