Print Providers Create Personalized Direct-Mail with Xerox and Kern

Press release from the issuing company

March 18, 2008 -- Print providers can now easily and more accurately create finished, ready to mail personalized direct communications in a single pass – with the envelope and letter created at the same time – using digital printing systems from Xerox Corporation and the Kern 515 EasyMailer finishing solution.

Xerox color and monochrome digital printing technology enables printers to simultaneously print 8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17" sheets of paper that contain both a personalized envelope and matching personalized letter on one or both sides. Printers then take the job offline to the Kern 515 EasyMailer to insert up to three personalized pages, as well as cut, fold, wrap and seal the completed job into the newly created mail-ready envelope.  The single pass printing process and use of common paper stock for both the letter and envelope eliminates paper waste.

Removing the need for separate envelope inventory and printing on-demand with common paper stock makes the Kern 515 EasyMailer a cost effective and environmentally-friendly solution for print shops.

Xerox devices approved for use with the Kern 515 EasyMailer are: the Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press, Xerox DocuTech? 128/155/180 HighLight Color System, Xerox Nuvera 100/120/144 EA Digital Production System, Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System and Xerox DocuColor 5000/6060/8000AP/7000AP Digital Color Presses.
The Kern 515 EasyMailer is available immediately for order taking in North America at a list price of $199,400 with product delivery in June.
