New High Definition Imaging Duplicators From Duplo

Press release from the issuing company

April 19, 2007 -- Duplo USA has extended its digital product range by adding three new models to its Duplicator stable: the DP-S850, DP-S550, and DP-S510. Capable of running at up to 150 copies per minute, the new Duplicators offer a versatile and cost-effective alternative for print companies and in-plants when producing jobs such as newsletters, corporate stationery, posters, and direct mail/flyers. The new DP-S models offer high definition imaging as a result of new thermal head and master material working in tandem with a high density black ink. These new generation Duplicators deliver high quality halftones and solids. With a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, the DP-S850 is ideal for high quality photographic work, while the DP-S550 and DP-S510 models, with resolutions of 300 x 600 dpi, are the perfect print solutions for text-heavy work. Fred Simone, vice president at Duplo USA comments: “Our new dynamic Duplicator models are more economical, quicker and easier to set up than offset presses and excel over traditional photocopying methods during job runs between 30 and 5,000 copies. At an affordable price, the profit margins for commercial printers, no matter how small, are huge and with a setup time of just 30 seconds, the Duplicators boost productivity in print rooms and copy shops enormously.” The machines can perform spot color work with changeovers taking less than 30 seconds. With 14 standard colors available, plus a matching service, users can select corporate or brand colors as required through an unlimited array of customized inks. The new LCD user control panel makes it easy to navigate the machine and customize the settings for optimal results. The DP-S models also use the faster and more widely available USB type interface, making them fully compatible with PCs and Macs. Continues Fred Simone: “We’ve overhauled the whole look and feel of the Duplicators, making them more ergonomic and giving them the commercial edge needed in today’s busy print environments. Printers will also benefit from the unparalleled stacking capacity of 1,200 sheets, making the machine ideally suited to short run commercial lengths. Apart from commercial print markets, the Duplicators are also ideal for other sectors where cost per copy is absolutely vital, such as churches, government, and educational establishments.” The DP-S Series also conforms to Japanese Green Purchasing Standards, making it one of the most energy efficient printing systems on the market and has the potential to save the owner up to 90% of their energy bill compared to running a toner-based device. Once switched on, the new Duplicators can print instantly onto a range of stocks from cards, envelopes, uncoated paper and non-carbon paper at weights of 13 lb. bond to 110 lb. index; while achieving up to 150 impressions per minute. Other new features include a custom multi-up print mode and a preview function allowing users to check the print on the screen before commencing the run. Additionally, the new DP-S850 Duplicator can automatically detect paper size to ensure the master is cut correctly, resulting in less waste.
