Ramsey Press Wins Two 2007 American Graphic Design Awards
Press release from the issuing company
Mahwah, NJ -- October 2, 2007 -- Ramsey Press, Inc., the woman-owned, high-quality boutique commercial printer in Northern New Jersey, is pleased to announce that it has recently won two 2007 American Graphic Design Awards in the Graphic Design: USA competition.
Graphic Design USA has been presenting this popular competition, open to all segments of the creative community, for more than three decades. For the second straight year, the exclusive corporate sponsor was Adobe Systems, Incorporated.
Selected from a remarkable 10,000+ entries, these pieces -- and their creators -- represent the best and brightest in graphic design and commercial printing.
Among the winning pieces, media diversity abounds: print and collateral, packaging and point--of-purchase, advertising and sales promotion, invitations and announcements, direct mail and catalogs, magazines and newspapers, web and interactive design. Diverse, too, are the types of winners: graphic design firms, advertising agencies, corporations, publications, universities and institutions along with commercial and publication printers.
One of Ramsey Press' winning entries was the Stribling Marketing Associates' Loft 25 Brochure designed by Alan Hill Design. The 34-page wire-o bound brochure was a promotional piece for the sale of luxury loft apartments at 420 West 25th Street in New York's Chelsea neighborhood. The brochure had an embossed and pearlized hard-board cover, complex cross-over spreads, a self-contained pocket-folder for floor plans, and spot varnishing throughout the brochure. Beautiful lifestyle images were printed throughout using Agfa's Sublima 340 line screening that gave the images a photographic appearance.
The second winning entry was The GAP T-Shirt Shop promotional CD kit designed by Laird+Partners and executed by the Vertical Group, both of New York. This clever promotional piece had a series of accordion-folded "t-shirts' tucked in the pocket of a printed pocket T-shirt on the left side of the folder while an integrated promotional CD was mounted onto the right side of the folder. There was no mistaking who the product company was or what the product was with this piece -- a very unique design with flawless execution.
Nicole Colon, President of Ramsey Press, commented, "It is exciting to be part of leading-edge design initiatives with some of the most creative people in the greater New York area. Finding new and more interesting ways to communicate with consumers and target customers is a passion for us at Ramsey Press. We are delighted to be recognized for these award-winning projects. Both of these 2007 American Graphic Design Awards are greatly appreciated."
