Press release from the issuing company
Andover, Massachusetts (October 26, 2008) Standard Finishing Systems, a leading supplier of paper handling and post-press finishing solutions, announced at Graph Expo that it has signed a broad partnership agreement with HP for Standard Hunkeler paper handling solutions and service support for HP customers. Through this agreement, Standard Finishing Systems will provide sales of Hunkeler devices to HP in North America, as well as post-sales support in the field. Hunkeler devices can be used with several HP digital webfed production presses, including the HP Indigo presses W3250 as well as the new HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press and HP Inkjet Web Press scheduled to be released in 2009.
"HP is a strong graphic arts player, and we're pleased to offer our full support with Standard Hunkeler solutions" said David Reny, executive vice president, Standard Finishing Systems. "We look forward to leveraging our applications knowledge, feeding and finishing technology, and service support for the benefit of HP customers."
HP and Hunkeler have undertaken joint development to engineer compatible paper handling solutions for the broad range of light and heavyweight media that HP Indigo presses can print on. Hunkeler has also coined the term "Huncolor-ready" to emphasize their expertise and commitment to serving the fast-growing digital color market with solutions that have been specifically designed for full-bleed trimming and extra-sensitive paper handling, to avoid any propensity for marking.
"HP and Hunkeler have a long history of bringing tremendous value to our customers through the combination of HP Indigo press and Hunkeler finishing solutions in end-to-end production environments," said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP. "HP is strengthening its long-standing partnership with Hunkeler by working with Standard, one of North America's most respected firms in finishing, to ensure customers receive the best service and support available."
