Global Imaging Acquires Inland Business Machines Inc.

Press release from the issuing company

September 20 -- TAMPA, Fla.-- Global Imaging Systems, Inc., a Xerox company, is acquiring Inland Business Machines, Inc., of Sacramento, Calif. The acquisition is the third by Global since it was acquired by Xerox this May, and furthers the company's strategy of supporting small and mid-size business customers across the country with an expanding network of office technology providers. Inland, which conducts business as Inland Business Systems, serves the greater Sacramento and Stockton, Calif., markets with office printing and scanning devices primarily from Savin. Inland, which becomes Global Imaging's 22nd core company, will continue to service its 8,000 customers as it begins offering Xerox's full range of office printing equipment. "Inland's philosophy around the customer and the benefits of strategic office technology mirror our own and make this company a natural fit," said Michael Shea, president of Global. "In addition, Inland is a staple in its marketplace and builds on Global's existing strength in California." Inland President, James Koppert, will remain in his position and report to Global's Shea. "The combination of Xerox's world class equipment and Global's commitment to the small and mid-size customer is unmatched in this business," said Koppert. "With this partnership our customers will benefit from more technology offerings supported by the reliable service they've come to expect from Inland for the past 30 years." Inland founder and CEO, John White, who established the company in 1977, is retiring. "This acquisition takes Inland to its next logical phase of growth," said White. "With Global and the support of Xerox, the company is even better positioned to serve our customers' growing office needs."
