XMPie Announces uDirect Studio; First Solution to Offer Variable-Data Publishing and Image Personalization All in One

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, Sept. 9, 2007 - GRAPH EXPO - Announced today at Graph Expo, the year's largest trade show for the printing and graphics communications industry, XMPie uDirect Studio combines the popular variable-data publishing software uDirect Standard with the award-winning image personalization software uImage 3.0 into one, easy-to-use package for both Mac and Windows users.
uDirect Studio integrates VDP and image personalization for creative and print professionals of all sizes that use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, extending the availability of high-value, one-to-one campaigns.  As a result, uDirect Studio addresses a niche in XMPie's desktop solutions line by catering to users who want to customize their projects beyond the simple rules and data functionality of uDirect Standard, but do not require the sophisticated data and programming models available with uDirect Professional.
uDirect Studio also includes full support for uChart - XMPie's solution for integrated variable-data graphs and charts - making it an ideal tool for developing data-centric promotional documents such as financial newsletters.
"We developed uDirect Studio in response to customer feedback that clearly expressed the need for compatibility with Mac systems, as well as to enable more creative work without requiring high-end data and programming," said Jacob Aizikowitz, president of XMPie. "With uDirect Studio, the design and print communities can elevate the impact of VDP by demonstrating that creativity is just as critical as information relevancy."
Ahead of an anticipated increase in demand for personalized image-based projects, XMPie is launching uImage Extension Server for PersonalEffect, XMPie's server-based dynamic publishing software. uImage Extension Server is an add-on solution that dramatically improves the overall processing time for uImage-intensive VDP jobs in PersonalEffect. Customers can create a cluster of servers dedicated for uImage processing, so that both image personalization processing and document composition processing are executed concurrently.
XMPie's uDirect line, including uDirect Studio, is fully compatible with PersonalEffect, maintaining XMPie's commitment to creating a highly collaborative workflow between the creative and production teams across the full spectrum of media channels.
uDirect Studio and the uImage Extension Server will both be available in early fourth quarter 2007.
