Konica Minolta Launches bizhub PRO C5500 Color Production Print System
Press release from the issuing company
RAMSEY, N.J. – September 5, 2007– Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. ( Konica Minolta ), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies from the desktop to the print shop, today announced the introduction of the bizhub PROTM C5500 digital color production printing system . Based on the design and technology of the bizhub PRO C6500, which launched last October, the bizhub PRO C5500 digital printing system delivers up to 55 pages per minute (ppm) in both color and black and white, and provides fast, reliable color output with excellent image quality.
As with the bizhub PRO C6500 , the bizhub PRO C5500 fills the gap between high volume office-oriented color-capable printer/copiers and high volume production color models. Offering flexible substrate handling capabilities, consistently outstanding image quality and formidable inline finishing options in a compact footprint, the bizhub PRO C5500 is targeted primarily toward corporate in-plant printing centers (CRDs), quick printers (print-for-profit), commercial printers, and corporate data centers. The bizhub PRO C5500 speaks directly to Konica Minolta's commitment to providing digital production printing systems of the highest quality yet at extremely affordable prices.
"Following in the footsteps of the highly successful bizhub PRO C6500, the bizhub PRO C5500 will continue to redefine the price/performance curve for color production print systems." said Kevin P. Kern, vice president, product planning and development, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "The bizhub PRO C5500 continues our tradition of bringing to market innovative technology advancements such as Simitri HD (High Definition) Color Polymerized Toner and Screen Enhancing Active Digital (S.E.A.D.) processing imaging technology, and fulfills our commitment to providing document output solutions from the desktop to the print shop."
