Oce Expands Customer Productivity with Launch of New High Speed Line within Océ VarioStream 9000 family

Press release from the issuing company

September 10, 2007 - CHICAGO -Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery, announces the expansion of the Océ VarioStream 9000 platform with the introduction of new higher speed systems. At the GRAPH EXPO show, Océ is unveiling a line of new monochrome digital printers producing high quality output at production speed that can increase print productivity by up to 80 percent. The Océ VarioStream 9710 system shown at GRAPH EXPO is the first model in the new line and is due to begin shipping in the first half of 2008. Further additions to the family include the Océ VarioStream 9510 and the Océ VarioStream 9610 models.
"Océ has been recognized as the leader in the continuous feed market since 2003, according to InfoTrends research, including most recently their report, 'U.S. Production Copying & Printing Placements: 2006'," said Jan Dix, Executive Vice President, Océ Digital Document Systems. "Now we are solidifying our leadership with an advanced line of higher speed-oriented versions of our respected Océ VarioStream 9000 family."
The Océ VarioStream 9710 model runs at 1,515 US letter size images per minute (ipm), while the Océ VarioStream 9610 system delivers 1,364 ipm, and the entry-level Océ VarioStream 9510 system delivers 1,136 ipm. The new high-speed family is especially suited to customers with high-volume requirements such as transactional invoices and account statements, as well as Graphic Arts applications like books. All of the new models maintain the versatility of the Océ VarioStream 9000 platform through interoperability, finishing flexibility and support for a range of applications. Functionality can be expanded to incorporate up to two additional Océ CustomTone colors, so customers benefit from the Océ Job Appropriate Color strategy with the best balance of color cost and speed for each job.
The new systems deliver significant productivity improvements while maintaining superb output quality. A special GraphicArts option can be added to all three models for printing challenging graphics and images. Because of this special exposure and dot modulation, images can be printed to a high degree of detail, an important prerequisite for jobs that require high-quality black and white reproduction of photos and graphics.
With this new high-speed product line, print providers can drive even more value from their Océ VarioStream 9000 investment. Installed Océ VarioStream 9000 customers can upgrade to high-speed Océ VarioStream versions, demonstrating the Océ commitment to investment protection and meeting customer needs over the long term.
