Vertis Offers Advanced Security, Anti-Fraud Technology

Press release from the issuing company

BALTIMORE (June 16, 2008) - Vertis Communications, the premier provider of print advertising and direct marketing solutions to leading retail and consumer services companies, today announced the company has upgraded and extended its longstanding technology license with Adlertech International and now offers customers the latest in optical deterrent technology. The new and enhanced technology is designed by Aldertech International to ensure documents produced for customers, such as rebate checks, settlement checks and high dollar value coupons are protected against counterfeiting.

Aldertech's well-known Sentinel VOID Pantograph is a patented system that incorporates a hidden security word or image into the background of secure documents, which will show up when an unauthorized photocopy or scan takes place. For additional security, Vertis utilizes a process called micro-printing, an anti-fraud device in which the signature line on checks and documents is comprised of very small words, making duplication or forgery nearly impossible. These combined security solutions confirm Vertis is taking every possible precaution to ensure the authenticity of items sent by their customers and redeemed by consumers.

"We know the special needs of customers that use designed checks, high-value coupons and other materials that can be forged or otherwise expose a company to fraud or liability," said Ray Clemmer, vice president, operations for Vertis Communications. "Vertis is continuously innovating to support our clients. We understand that security is of vital importance and are harnessing the most advanced technology to provide our customers with the utmost confidence in their direct marketing programs."

By employing this new and improved technology, Vertis has become a one-stop-shop for customers looking to create any inline or conventional format checks. Financial institutions, retailers, consumer packaging goods marketers, automakers and insurance companies can now take advantage of this new security technology along with Vertis' entire suite of direct marketing products and services.
