DPI Commercial Printing Upgrades to New Komori Lithrone S40

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, December, 10 2007- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that DPI Commercial Printing, LLC, Rochester, NY, has installed a new six-color Lithrone S40 (LS640) offset press with aqueous coater at DPI's new 25,000 sq. ft. printing facility. The press was installed at the new facility to replace a seven-year-old LS540 at the company's old facility, assuring that not a single day of production was lost in DPI's round-the-clock printing schedule.
DPI, which also offers in-house short-run and large-format digital and inkjet printing and variable data printing, has established a 30 percent per-year growth rate over the past three years in the highly competitive Rochester market.  DPI attributes its growth to a policy of investing in the very latest printing technology, such as the new LS640, and pursuing maximum efficiency.  DPI notes that for a company that prides itself on efficiency, the newest Komori is an ideal solution.  Features incorporated into the LS640, such as fully-automated plate changing for quick changeover from one job to the next, automated color management systems, and compatibility with workflow systems, help DPI run a lean, 50-person organization-half the size of some competitors-while getting the jobs out faster and pleasing customers.
"The LS640 with aqueous coater is all about speed and efficiency-it reaches color quickly and high quality products come off the press dry, coated, and ready to go," said Matt Kellman, executive vice president of DPI.
"We can hit that fast turn-around that fits our 24/7 schedule. I can't stress makeready times enough. Time to market is critical. If you are struggling with makereadies and to get color and to get paper though your press you are losing money. The efficiency of this press goes to your bottom line instantly. The immediate reaction from customers is the 'wow' factor-the screen work is very clean, it's a sleek and sexy machine that is easy to show-especially in our new facility."
"Partnering with DPI has been a true pleasure due to the company's philosophy of quality, responsiveness, and professionalism," said Ken Sabol, vice president of sales for Komori's Eastern Region. "The Lithrone S40 is a perfect match for this type of environment."
