Smart Papers Achieves Full FSC Certification on Its Genesis Brand of Premium Uncoated Papers, Adds New Papers With 100% Post-Consumer Waste
Press release from the issuing company
HAMILTON, Ohio, December 5, 2007-U.S. papermaker SMART Papers has achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for its entire Genesis brand of premium uncoated printing and packaging papers. The full FSC certification of Genesis adds to the company's growing line of FSC-certified papers, including those with post-consumer waste.
SMART Papers, the largest independent North American manufacturer and marketer of premium cast coated, matte coated and uncoated printing papers, also said it now makes a majority of the Genesis papers with 100 percent post-consumer waste content (PCW). The updated Genesis swatchbook will be available in January 2008.
FSC is widely considered the preferred certification in forest products sourcing. "Achieving FSC certification for one of our best-selling brands gives graphics professionals and their customers world-class recycled printing papers with solid environmental credentials," said Dan Maheu, President of SMART Papers.
Genesis Grows Offering of 100% Post-Consumer Waste Papers
